2009 Chefs of the Coast “Food As Art” Competition
September 20, 2009
5267 Oak Crest Manor, Pass Christian Ms. -- Enter Service Drive .
Each competitor must have a wristband to enter area. Parking will be across the street in the school parking lot. All must be delivered, and set up, by 4 pm on the day of the event
There are four Categories:
Decorated celebration cake –sugar paste,
rolled fondant or royal icing.
Cake may be any shape with a maximum display area of
24" by 24".
No dummy cakes allowed.
Tallo Centerpiece Competition
Delivered to competition area prior to 4:00pm on
September 20, 2009.
Judged on proportions, final
look, details. Not to exceed 48 x48 area
Internal support may be used.
Vegetable and or Fruit Carving
Not to exceed 24" by 24" display area. May use any
type of produce. Internal skewers may be used too
connect the parts. All other parts should be of
produce.
Student or amateur category
Any culinary student or an
individual that is not employed or has experience in
the food industry may enter this category. The
individual will choose one of the three categories.
All other rules apply.
Cash awards for this category will be $100, $75, and
$50
The following awards will be presented for the top
three scores in three professional categories.
First Place $250 / Gold Medal
Second Place $150 / Silver Medal
Third Place $100 / Bronze medal
All entries must be delivered to sight by 4:00 pm on
September 20, 2009.
Judging will begin at 5 pm .
Awards will be announced at approximately 8 pm at a location TBD
$25.00 entry fee covers all categories. Only 1 (one)
entry per category.
